Housing Options Officer – Berkshire Rate: £23.63 per hour (umbrella)
Contract: 3–6 months
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in office)
We are seeking an experienced
Housing Options Officer to join our team in Berkshire on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing frontline housing advice and support in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act and Part 7 of the Housing Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out first-stage homelessness assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Collect, verify, and upload all necessary documentation using Jigsaw.
- Review Section 8 and Section 21 notices to ensure legal validity.
- Provide accurate first-stage legal advice under the HRA and homelessness legislation.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for applicants.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Housing Options Officer or similar role is essential.
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation (HRA / Housing Act Part 7).
- Proficiency in using Jigsaw case management system.
- Ability to assess housing need quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
