Assistant Team Manager - Safeguarding 
Location: Wokingham 

Wokingham Borough Council are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Team Manager in the safeguarding team. The successful applicant will oversee performance management and a group of social workers who hold child in need, child protection and proceedings. Using the Signs of Safety Practice Framework alongside a relationship-based practice approach, you will enable social workers to assess the worries and needs for children as well as the strengths and safety within the network, helping to agree a safety plan and next steps within the legislative and procedural framework. You will provide regular supervision and help to create a team culture of learning alongside attending leadership sessions to broaden your own practice knowledge base. The ideal candidate will bring previous management experience, along with a dynamic and analytical approach. It is pivotal the effective candidate can manage competing demands and prioritise effectively to promote safe, positive and timely decisions for the children and young people of the borough. When Children's Services get involved in the life of a child our priority is to make sure our social workers have the support, time and resources they need to provide an excellent quality of service - the kind of service we ourselves would wish to receive. We know that the success of ANY team will be dependent upon the people we employ. Conifers are a very stable team who are primarily permanently staffed with a wonderful team culture. The team manager has a strong preference for a face to face interview to get a sense of character and fit for the team.
