About the Role As
Stock Control Manager, you will lead and coordinate stock control activities across the warehouse operation, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
You will play a key role in maintaining stock integrity, supporting operational performance, and developing the wider team. This position requires a highly organised and proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities while driving a “right first-time” culture.
This role operates Monday to Friday (9am–5pm), with some flexibility required. Please note, this role does not involve purchasing or procurement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop the stock control team, including performance management, training, and coaching
Maintain stock accuracy with a target of 100% integrity across all systems
Manage and investigate stock discrepancies, completing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing improvements
Oversee accurate and timely 3PL storage reporting
Manage stock reservations or refusals where abnormalities or risks are identified (e.g. product non-conformance or food safety concerns)
Plan and manage replenishment to ensure pick locations are fully stocked in line with demand
Schedule and oversee cycle counts, stock takes, and ad-hoc stock checks
Optimise warehouse storage through effective product placement and consolidation strategies
Develop storage solutions for new clients and maximise space utilisation
Work across multiple WMS platforms, creating and utilising reports to maintain stock accuracy
Liaise with Finance and Client Support teams to manage aged, obsolete, or expired stock
Support organisation-wide understanding of stock control best practices through training and guidance
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential
Strong experience in stock control or inventory management within a warehouse environment
Proven leadership and team management experience
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders across all levels
Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Good understanding of stock integrity, replenishment, and warehouse processes
Qualifications
Good standard of education (minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent)
Desirable
HND or degree in Logistics, Business, STEM, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
