As an Associate Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead the electrical discipline across education, residential, heritage, and science sector projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically excellent and sustainable MEP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design on complex building services projects, from early feasibility through construction and post-occupancy
  • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with mechanical, sustainability, and BIM teams to ensure coordinated, compliant, and innovative MEP designs
  • Represent the consultancy at client meetings, workshops, and project reviews
  • Contribute to strategic planning, resourcing, and business development initiatives
  • Drive innovation in sustainable technologies and low-energy system design
  • Participate in continuous improvement of internal processes, QA procedures, and design standards
Candidate Profile
  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered or actively working towards CEng status (IET, CIBSE, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems: power, lighting, fire/life safety, data, and controls
  • Up-to-date with UK standards: BS 7671, CIBSE guidance, building regulations, and sustainability frameworks such as Passivhaus and BREEAM
  • Confident leader with client management experience and strategic thinking skills
  • Proficient in design software: AutoCAD, Revit (desirable), Amtech, Dialux/Relux
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative approach and hands-on leadership style
Why You’ll Thrive Here
  • Hybrid working with flexibility and a welcoming Oxfordshire office environment
  • Work on nationally recognised sustainable projects, including certified Passivhaus schemes
  • Hands-on leadership opportunities with direct influence on team culture and project delivery
  • Benefits include:
    • 28 days holiday + bank holidays
    • Private medical insurance
    • 8% employer pension contribution
    • Life insurance
    • Annual bonus scheme
    • Cycle-to-work and electric vehicle schemes
    • Training budget and chartership support
Take the next step in your career as an Associate Electrical Design Engineer and lead the delivery of sustainable, high-performance building services projects while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
