The Role You will be responsible for assessing Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Support claims, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Assess new and change of circumstance claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits legislation and policy
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with enquiries
- Work collaboratively within a team to manage workload effectively
About You- Proven experience working as a Benefits Assessor within a local authority
- Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support regulations
- Experience using relevant systems (e.g. Northgate/Capita or similar)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload
