Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician plays a key role in ensuring both planned and reactive maintenance activities are carried out safely, compliantly, and within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
- Test and inspect electrical installations in line with current IEE Wiring Regulations
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
- Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance
- Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components
- Actively fault find and resolve issues on domestic electrical systems
- Undertake electrical installation works in line with provided designs and IET Wiring Regulations
- Monitor, manage, and order critical spares for all electrical services
- Oversee and monitor the BMS system
- Support zero carbon and sustainability initiatives
- Complete additional tasks as directed by the line manager
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1–3, BTEC, or NVQ Level 3 or above)
- BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations – 18th Edition
- Knowledge and experience of electrical systems and Electricity at Work Regulations
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, installation, distribution, and testing
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Comfortable working at heights
Prison Security Clearance is required – full support will be provided throughout the clearance process.
