We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an
on-site Plumber to work at
HMP Stocken.
The standard hours of work are
39 hours per week, worked across
7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place.
There is a requirement to work
1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, which attracts an
additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by delivering safe, clean and efficient prison environments across England and Wales. Through expert facilities management services, secure sites are kept operational, compliant and well maintained.
The
Plumber plays a vital role in ensuring both planned and reactive maintenance works are completed safely, compliantly and within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
- Carry out statutory maintenance works in line with compliance requirements
- Complete routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs
- Repair mains water supplies and replace life-expired equipment
- Inspect water systems, take samples, and assess risks to maintain system integrity
- Monitor the BMS system to ensure optimal performance
- Support zero carbon and sustainability initiatives
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the line manager, including working at height and in varying weather conditions
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant trade qualification – NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating
- Experience operating light plant
- Legionella Control (L8) knowledge and experience within a commercial environment (desirable)
