About the roleA Project Mechanical Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of mechanical engineering works on a construction project. This role ensures cost-effective planning, budgeting, procurement, and financial control of all mechanical elements, such as HVAC, piping, fire protection systems, and plumbing, while ensuring compliance with project requirements, regulations, and timelines.
Responsibilities- Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates based on design documents, specifications, and site conditions.
 - Develop and monitor project budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
 - Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documentation for mechanical works.
 - Evaluate and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids and recommend contract awards.
 - Administer contracts in accordance with JCT D&B or other standard forms.
 - Manage variations, claims, and dispute resolution related to mechanical works.
 - Track costs against budget and prepare regular financial reports.
 - Conduct value engineering and cost-saving analysis during project execution.
 - Perform on-site measurements and re-measurements for mechanical components.
 - Validate and certify subcontractor and supplier invoices.
 
Collaboration & Coordination:- Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment on mechanical scope.
 - Attend site meetings and liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
