Location: West London (1 day per week in the office / hybrid)
Rate: £29.18 per hour (umbrella)
Contract: 3–6 months, ongoing
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Revenues Officer to join a busy Local Authority team in West London. This role focuses on the efficient administration, collection, and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations while delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and process Council Tax and Business Rates accounts accurately and efficiently.
- Handle billing, collection, and recovery of revenues in line with legislation and local policy.
- Investigate and resolve complex queries, disputes, and appeals.
- Liaise with customers, stakeholders, and external agencies to provide clear advice and support.
- Manage recovery actions, including reminders, summons, and enforcement proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain high service standards.
- Proven experience as a Revenues Officer within a local authority setting.
- Strong knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, and associated legislation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high workloads effectively.
- Must have experience of using NEC Revs and Bens back office system and Civica Document Management system. Understanding of council tax legislation .
