Job Title: Repairs Team Leader

Rate: £400 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: 12-month ongoing contract
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm
About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Repairs Team Leader to oversee a busy and fast-paced
Local Authority repairs service in East London. This role is critical in leading a team of Maintenance Surveyors, ensuring high-quality repair services across housing stock, delivering statutory compliance, and improving resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of at least six Maintenance Surveyors, ensuring performance targets are met.
- Oversee and coordinate responsive repairs, void works, and cyclical maintenance.
- Provide expert technical guidance on complex repairs, diagnostics, and disrepair cases.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards, including health and safety.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with contractors, residents, and internal teams.
- Deliver high-quality service improvements and contribute to long-term asset management plans.
- Support performance monitoring, contract management, and the delivery of value for money.
Requirements- Extensive experience managing technical staff in a local authority/social housing repairs environment.
- Strong track record of leading teams in a busy, high-demand repairs service.
- Proven problem-solving and technical diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Minimum Building HNC qualification (or equivalent recognised building qualification).
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and drive service excellence.
