About the Role:
A local Authority is seeking a dedicated and professional individual to join the Environment and Enterprise Directorate as
Civil Enforcement Officer.
This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and safety of our borough’s streets and car parks, ensuring a harmonious living environment for all residents.
You will interact with a wide range of people, providing assistance and resolving disputes. This role allows you to be a visible and approachable figure in the community, enhancing public relations and trust.
This role offers a variety of tasks, from patrolling on foot or moped to monitoring CCTV systems. The diverse nature of the job ensures that no two days are the same, keeping your work life engaging and fulfilling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce on and off-street parking regulations, including pay and display car parks and controlled parking zones.
- Conduct surveillance to identify and record violations, issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) as necessary.
- Monitor and process contraventions captured by CCTV systems.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including witness statements and photographic evidence.
- Engage with the public, providing information and defusing potential disputes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and promote a positive safety culture.
About You We’re looking for someone who has:
- Understanding of equality issues and relevant legislation.
- Experience in a customer-oriented role and working with the public.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using mobile technology and information systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness to patrol on foot and work in various weather conditions.
