Head of Repairs and Maintenance

Role Purpose 
Operational management of responsive repair and maintenance teams responsible for all aspects of delivery of repairs including the management of the direct labour organisation, damp and mould, complex repairs, customer relations and multiple contractors.



Responsibilities 
1. Provide effective management and leadership of the repairs teams in delivering a highquality repairs service to the residents of Haringey council housing portfolio, meeting organisation customer satisfaction and operational targets.
2. Ensure that directly employed staff delivering the repairs service meet strategic objectives and commercial targets, to deliver a reliable and VFM service
3. To ensure that on-going performance management of external contractors used to deliver the Homes for Haringey repairs service meets all regulatory, corporate and performance standards.
4. To undertake robust financial and budget management and monitoring to ensure that services are delivered within budget and can demonstrate value for money.
5. A member of the Haringey Repairs Service Management team, ensuring the delivery of the Council's vision, values, and strategic objectives - providing clear direction; support, guidance, coaching; and effective leadership within the HRS management team.
6. Provide occasional cover for the Head of Repairs and Maintenance as needed from time to time.


Requirements 

• HNC / degree or above qualification in building, construction surveying or related subject and and/or membership of a recognised professional body or equivalent qualification or experience
• Experience working in housing association or council
• A track record in delivering a repairs services setting including substantial experience of mana in direct labour teams and subcontractors.
• A clean, full UK/EU Driving licence is required

Contract 

• Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend 
• PAYE via Umbrella 
• Inside IR35
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
