Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Saturday remote phone coverage 1/3)

About the Role:We are seeking a reliable and experienced
Service Controller to join our team at our Warrington depot. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing engineering teams to ensure that all jobs are completed with quality and efficiency. You will play a key part in maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, managing inventory, and ensuring that spare parts are stocked and available to avoid service disruptions. Additionally, you will oversee workplace health and safety procedures (WHIP), ensuring compliance with operational guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
This position requires remote phone coverage on one Saturday every three weeks. It is an essential role where reliability, consistency, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines are crucial. You will work as part of a small, close-knit team and need to be adaptable and flexible to collaborate effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage engineering teams, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Ensure workplace health and safety procedures (WHIP) are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage service operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
- Handle inventory management, including ordering and stocking spare parts to avoid service disruptions.
- Provide remote phone coverage one Saturday every three weeks.
- Maintain consistent communication with the team to ensure smooth collaboration and operational success.
Person Specification:
- Technically qualified in a relevant field, preferably with experience in the Heavy Plant sector.
- Proven experience working as a Service Controller, Technical Service Controller, Service Administrator, or Hire Controller.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, demonstrating stability and long-term commitment.
- Full UK driving license is required.
- Proficient in PC use, with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamworking skills, with the ability to collaborate and adapt to various team dynamics.
