Job Title: Mobile Field Service Engineer (Home Based)
Location: Coventry (Some national travel required)
Working Hours: 39 hours per week

• Monday-Thursday: 08:00 AM – 16:30 PM
• Friday: 08:00 AM – 16:00 PM

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Mobile Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. As a home-based engineer, you will provide high-quality service, repair, and diagnostics for heavy earthmoving equipment. You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining machinery from leading manufacturers such as Volvo, Caterpillar, and Komatsu, ensuring they are operating at their best.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel up to 100 miles from home each day and be flexible to work away as needed. Engineers often work 60-80 hours per week, with ample opportunities for overtime. You will be a key part of a nationwide team of engineers, ensuring that machinery is maintained efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:

• Service, repair, and diagnose faults on Volvo, Caterpillar, and Komatsu heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Perform overhauls and electrical troubleshooting of equipment.
• Travel up to 100 miles daily and work away from home as required.
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Complete necessary paperwork and reports in line with company procedures.

Person Specification:

• Level 2 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Gas welding and cutting experience (ideal but not essential).
• Extensive experience in servicing, repairing, and diagnosing faults on Volvo, Caterpillar, and Komatsu heavy equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs on complex machinery.
• Willingness to work away when required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Salary and Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: £16.50 per hour (reviewed annually in June).
• Overtime Rates: Time and a half for overtime, double pay on sundays
• Holiday: 25 days holiday + statutory holidays.
