About the Role In this role, you’ll be the first point of professional contact for children and families referred to social care. You will:
- Complete timely and effective Child & Family Assessments
- Respond to new referrals, ensuring children’s needs are assessed quickly and accurately
- Work closely with partner agencies including police, education, and health services
- Make decisions and take action to safeguard and promote welfare
- Plan and coordinate interventions for children in need or at risk
- Ensure all work complies with statutory timescales and best practice standards
- Support step-down to early help services where appropriate

Who We’re Looking For You will be:
- A Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
- Experienced in Duty & Assessment, Child Protection, CIN, and Court Work
- Able to demonstrate strong risk assessment and analytical skills
- Skilled in preparing high-quality reports for court and case reviews
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment
- Proactive, resilient, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children
- Able to work independently while contributing to a supportive team culture

Key Skills & Experience- Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience in children’s social care
- Confident in direct work with children and families
- Strong knowledge of Child Protection legislation and statutory responsibilities
- Skilled in engaging families, managing complex cases, and navigating court processes
- Committed to continuous improvement and reflective practice
