Are you a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families? Bolton Council is seeking committed professionals to join their Family Safeguarding Team โ€” and weโ€™re looking for someone just like you.

About the Role
In this frontline safeguarding role, you will:
  • Work with children and families subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, Pre-proceedings, and Court processes
  • Undertake Child & Family Assessments, using professional analysis and judgement to plan effective interventions
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, and long-term outcomes for children at risk of harm
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families to support meaningful and sustainable change
  • Prepare detailed reports and attend court proceedings as required
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies to deliver coordinated support in line with statutory guidance

Who Weโ€™re Looking For
You will be:
  • A Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in Child Protection, Court Work, and working with vulnerable families
  • Skilled in assessment, planning, and direct work with children and families
  • Knowledgeable in current Child Protection legislation and safeguarding frameworks
  • An excellent communicator, able to work confidently across agencies and with families
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children

Key Requirements
  • Minimum 3 yearsโ€™ post-qualifying experience
  • Strong understanding of the challenges facing children at risk of abuse or neglect
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload while meeting statutory deadlines
  • Experience preparing high-quality reports for courts and reviews
  • Confidence in using social care systems and contributing to team development
