Child Protection, Children in Need, and Court Work.
π₯ About the RoleAs a
Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of Social Workers delivering high-quality statutory services. Youβll guide them in their work with children and families under the
Children Act 1989 and other key legislation, including those:
- In need of protection
- Looked after by the local authority
- Requiring early support and robust intervention
You will also:
- Lead on complex case decision-making and planning
- Ensure timely assessments and interventions are delivered to high standards
- Monitor performance and compliance in line with service targets and expectations
- Support professional development through regular supervision, reflective practice, and coaching
- Champion a culture of child-centred practice, resilience, and continuous improvement
π What Weβre Looking ForTo be successful, youβll need to bring:
- β
A recognised Social Work qualification
- β
Registration with Social Work England (or Social Care Wales)
- β
At least 2 years' post-qualified experience, ideally including team leadership or senior practitioner roles
- β
A strong background in Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court Work
- β
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
- β
Strong decision-making and risk assessment skills
- β
Excellent communication and people management abilities
- β
A creative, flexible and forward-thinking approach to family support
