Are you an experienced and passionate social work professional ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a Senior Practice Lead to join our Child in Need team – a vital service that supports children and families from initial referral through to care proceedings. This is your opportunity to take on a strategic and supportive leadership role, while continuing to make a tangible difference in children's lives.
🌈 What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Practice Lead, you will:
- Support and mentor social workers and family support staff, including newly qualified practitioners.
- Offer professional expertise in Child in Need, Child Protection, Pre-Proceedings and Care Proceedings.
- Oversee and improve case quality, ensuring interventions are high-quality, child-focused, and evidence-based.
- Manage a small caseload of complex cases, as agreed with the Team Manager.
- Identify learning needs and promote professional development through supervision, mentoring and practice guidance.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies, fostering openness, trust and engagement.
👤 About You:
You’ll be a confident and capable practitioner with:
- 5+ years post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care (especially Duty, CIN, CP, and Legal Proceedings).
- Strong track record in delivering quality casework aligned with best practice.
- Social Work England registration and excellent references.
- Skilled at motivating, mentoring, and guiding others.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and best practice frameworks (e.g., Research in Practice, C4EO).
- A creative, flexible and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
