Qualified Social Worker – Children in Care📍 Location: West Yorkshire
💷 Pay Rate: £35 per hour We're looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Children in Care Team in West Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and progressive local authority, with a strong culture of reflective practice, collaboration, and child-focused care. You’ll work within a busy but well-supported team, alongside experienced managers and social workers, with regular supervision and group reflective sessions to support your development.About the Role:As a Social Worker in the Children in Care team, you will:- Support children and young people in care to achieve stability, safety, and long-term positive outcomes.
- Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and carers to ensure effective planning and support.
- Assess risk, identify needs, and develop and review care plans that put the child at the centre.
- Work closely with multi-agency partners to deliver coordinated interventions.
- Make sound, evidence-based decisions that protect and promote the wellbeing of children.
- Ensure statutory duties are met in line with the Children Act and other key legislation.
What We’re Looking For:- Qualified Social Worker with a degree (or equivalent) in Social Work
- Registered with Social Work England
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally with Children in Care or similar settings
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and care planning
- Experience in court work, Child Protection, and Children in Need
- Skilled in direct work with children and families
- Excellent communication, analysis, and decision-making skills
- Creative, flexible, and committed to continuous improvement
- Confident working within multi-disciplinary teams

- Undertake Child & Family Assessments and contribute to robust care planning
- Use professional judgment to determine appropriate interventions
- Promote independence, resilience, and positive outcomes for children
