👶 About the Role
This is a dynamic opportunity to work on cases including:
✅ Children in Need
✅ Child Protection
✅ Care Proceedings
✅ Private Law & Adoption
✅ Children Looked After
You’ll manage a varied caseload and carry out direct work with children and families, including Section 47 enquiries, CIN reviews, court reports, and DOLS assessments for children in care. You’ll collaborate closely with partner agencies—such as police, health, and early help teams—to ensure joined-up, timely interventions that keep children safe and supported.

🧠 What You’ll Be Doing

• Complete assessments and care plans under the Children Act
  • Conduct CIN reviews and assessments to determine escalation or step-down
  • Lead safeguarding interventions and contribute to court proceedings
  • Undertake Mental Capacity and Best Interest assessments where appropriate
  • Liaise effectively with multi-agency professionals
  • Mentor and support unqualified staff and students
  • Promote long-term, community-based support and permanency planning

👤 What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a strong advocate for children, with:
• Social Work England registration
• A Social Work qualification (degree or equivalent)
• 4+ years’ experience in Children’s Social Care
• In-depth knowledge of Child Protection legislation and safeguarding practices
• Excellent assessment, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to engage with children and families, building trust and participation
• Experience in multi-agency working and court proceedings
• A solution-focused, compassionate, and resilient mindset
