We're looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Families First Team within a local authority in Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and supportive environment where your skills and voice truly matter.
You’ll be part of a proactive team focused on early intervention—assessing and supporting children and families at the earliest possible stage to reduce risk and create sustainable change. 🧩 About the Role
You’ll work with children and families who require support through Child in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings, and court processes. The aim is to deliver targeted interventions that reduce risk, strengthen parenting capacity, and promote positive outcomes.
You'll collaborate closely with schools, health, police, and Early Help services to ensure the right support is in place at the right time.
 
👤 What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking social workers who are:

• Registered with Social Work England
• Experienced (2+ years PQE) in safeguarding, court work, and family assessment
• Knowledgeable in Child Protection legislation and best practice
• Skilled in writing high-quality Child & Family Assessments
• Able to build trusting relationships with families and children
• Creative and strengths-based in approach
• Confident in multi-agency working and direct interventions
• Passionate about achieving lasting positive change

• Carry out robust assessments of risk and need under the Children Act
• Manage a manageable caseload with autonomy and confidence
• Develop clear, child-focused care plans
• Deliver impactful direct work with children and families
• Prepare evidence-based reports and attend court as required
• Promote inclusion, safety, and family-led solutions
