Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Manager to:

"We need someone with at least 5 years experience of working as an Ofsted registered manager or responsible individual. They need experience of setting up and registering childrens homes and need to be willing to be available locally to visit new properties and to support the 7 open homes (all within bucks)"

Expected undertaken tasks include:
  • To have responsibility for the management and leadership of the four Children’s Homes provisions owned by
    Buckinghamshire Council as the Ofsted Responsible Individual in accordance with the Children’s Homes
    Regulations 2015, and to take on management and leadership of any future homes.
  • To have responsibility for the management and leadership of the Leaving Care Independent Living provision that
    are owned and resourced by Buckinghamshire Council and the management and leadership of any future homes.
  • To develop and manage a robust in-house independent provision for young people on the edge of leaving care
    and to ensure the provision can meet the needs of our young people as they transition to full independence.
  • To line manage the Heads of Home, ensuring they always remain compliant with regulatory expectations and to
    be the overall ‘Responsible Individual in charge’ and promote high standards of care in line with the regulatory
    body Ofsted Children’s Home Regulations 2015.
  • To ensure that all young people who are currently in or enter the care of a Buckinghamshire Council residential
    provision receive excellent levels of emotional and physical care, within a home that offers a safe, nurturing, and
    comfortable environment.
  • To ensure that the staff teams within each home remains supportive and enabling, providing opportunities and
    experiences to instil positive values and reaffirm the importance of children enjoying a childhood. This includes
    leading and managing employees and resources to ensure that constant high standards of service are achieved
    within the home, exceeding regulatory standards.
