Sales Engineer – Pumps & Pumping Systems

We are seeking a driven Technical Sales Engineer to join our Pump Sales team. In this role, you will work closely with clients across sectors including construction, utilities, distribution, and industrial processing, helping them achieve fit-for-purpose, cost-effective solutions. You will provide technical support, product recommendations, and system solutions based on client application needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of this Sales Engineer role:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients across multiple sectors.
  • Identify client requirements and provide tailored solutions using pumps and pumping systems.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals, quotations, and specifications.
  • Support clients in system selection, troubleshooting, and application advice.
  • Liaise with internal teams, including engineering and service departments, to ensure solutions meet client requirements.
  • Attend site visits and meetings to assess client needs and provide on-site technical guidance.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
  • Achieve individual sales targets while supporting team goals.
  • Provide feedback to product development and management teams regarding customer requirements and market opportunities.
Skills and Experience Required for this Sales Engineer role:
  • Previous experience in technical or industrial sales, preferably within pumps or fluid handling systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and schematics.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to client sites.
Details of this Sales Engineer role:
  • £27,500 to £30,000 depending on experience. Flexibility to work contracted hours over 4 days (subject to workload and manager approval).
  • 30 days holiday including statutory, rising to 33 days after 1 year.
  • Annual company performance bonus (non-contractual).
