Job Description
We’re looking for a reliable and hard-working Yard Operative to join our client’s busy foundry and recycling facility in Congleton.
This is a hands-on role involving general yard duties, material handling, and supporting production teams with day-to-day operations. You’ll be working both indoors and outdoors, so applicants must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities of this Yard Operative role:
- General yard work including manual handling, sorting, and moving materials
- Picking and separating materials for recycling or processing
- Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles
- Keeping the yard clean, safe, and well-organised
- Following all health & safety procedures and wearing PPE at all times
- Supporting production and maintenance teams as required
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude – reliability is essential
- Experience in a yard, recycling, or manufacturing environment advantageous
- FLT licence desirable but not essential (training may be provided)
- £12.50 per hour
- Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:30 (no weekends)
