Weighbridge Operative – Cardiff

Are you an organised, detail-oriented individual with a knack for managing processes and paperwork? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Weighbridge Operative to join a dynamic team at a busy waste disposal facility in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Role Details:
  • Position: Weighbridge Operative
  • Location: Cardiff, South Wales
  • Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Shift Times: 14:00 – 22:00
  • Contract Dates: 8th September 2025 – 31st December 2025
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a computerised weighbridge to accurately weigh and record vehicles delivering and removing waste/materials.
  • Manage, reconcile, and file all related paperwork, including legally required waste transfer notes and consignment notes.
  • Control vehicle access to the waste disposal facility, ensuring compliance with current legislation and verifying documentation.
  • Liaise with site staff to ensure efficient operations and coordination.
  • Process payments via card machine for waste disposal services when required.
  • Ensure all weighbridge users adhere to site procedures and safety protocols.
  • Report any equipment faults or stock shortages to the supervisor promptly.
  • Handle general telephone enquiries regarding waste disposal professionally.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using computerised systems and handling paperwork.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with site staff and handling enquiries.
  • Ability to work independently and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or waste management is a plus but not essential – full training provided.
