Social Worker – Adults & Carers Support
Location: Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales
Contract: 5th May 2025 – 31st October 2025 (25 Weeks)
Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

What You’ll Do:
Undertake assessments and manage a caseload, commissioning services to meet the care and support needs of adults and carers.
Work in partnership with citizens, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to co-produce and review care plans that promote independence.
Negotiate resources and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the best outcomes for service users.
Maintain accurate electronic case files, participate in supervision, and contribute to team activities like duty rotas and training.
For Grade 9: Supervise students, provide coaching and mentoring, and handle more complex cases, potentially including AMHP/BIA duties.
What We’re Looking For:
For Grade 8 (Newly Qualified):
Less than 2 years’ post-qualified experience; willingness to undertake studies to meet Social Care Wales CPEL framework requirements.
Passionate about supporting adults and carers, with a commitment to professional development.
For Grade 9 (Experienced):
Over 3 years’ practicing experience as a Social Worker, with a focus on complex cases.
Experience supervising student Social Workers, providing coaching, mentoring, and acting as a Practice Assessor.
Meets the Social Worker Career Progression Framework; AMHP/BIA experience is a plus.
General Requirements:
Registered with Social Care Wales; Enhanced DBS check; ability to travel within Vale of Glamorgan for client visits and office duties.
Strong assessment, case management, and partnership-working skills, with a commitment to safeguarding and equal opportunities.
Bonus Points: Welsh language skills (or willingness to learn basic greetings); experience with Mental Health Law or Best Interests assessments.
