Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Durham Start Date: 20th April | Duration: Until Summer Term (with potential extension)
The Education Network is currently recruiting for a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Durham.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school support staff looking to gain valuable classroom experience. The role is due to start on 20th April and will run until the end of the Summer term, with the possibility of continuing beyond this.
The Role:
  • Supervising classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in the absence of the class teacher
  • Delivering pre-set lesson plans and ensuring students remain on task
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Providing support to students where required
  • Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Confident, adaptable, and able to work independently
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Degree-level education (desirable but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
