A well-established and rapidly growing building services and environmental design consultancy, based in central London, is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team.

Role Overview

• Lead electrical design and coordination across a range of exciting projects
• Manage detailed design packages and oversee technical quality standards
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and best practice guidance
• Represent the consultancy in client meetings and technical discussions
• Support internal planning and quality assurance processes

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical building services design
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered or working towards chartership (IET or CIBSE)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage distribution, lighting, controls, and life safety systems
• Experience delivering coordinated multidisciplinary design through all RIBA stages
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit and BIM experience advantageous
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Passion for sustainability and high-performance building design
