What You’ll Do:
- Conduct social work assessments and provide care management in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely and thorough interventions.
- Empower service users to develop independence and exercise choices wherever possible.
- Implement, monitor, and review care plans, coordinating with service users, carers, and partner agencies.
- Provide clear information and advice on available services and statutory responsibilities.
- Write concise, high-quality reports for various audiences, including courts and safeguarding purposes.
- Advocate for service users’ best interests, educating colleagues and the community about their needs and rights.
- Refer to or access specialist advice (e.g., welfare or legal rights) when needed.
- Represent the Children’s Services perspective in multi-disciplinary settings.
- Participate in supervision, training, and personal/professional development as required.
- Comply with health, safety, welfare, and corporate equality policies, ensuring anti-discriminatory practice.
- Undertake additional duties as directed, appropriate to the role.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a compassionate, skilled social worker with the ability to hit the ground running. You’ll need:
- Essential:
- CQSW, Diploma, or BA Honours in Social Work.
- Active registration with Social Care Wales.
- Social work experience in Children’s or Adults’ Services (including placements).
- Knowledge of current legislation, guidance, regulations, and good practice standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and partner agencies.
- IT literacy for case management and reporting.
- Well-developed negotiating and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate information to make prioritised judgements.
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities.
- Current driving licence, access to a car for work, and ability to travel as required.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

- Desirable:
- Welsh language skills
