Job Title: Construction Officer (Temporary)

skilled and dedicated Construction Officer - Compliance to join our client, a progressive and forward-thinking local authority, on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of the community by ensuring compliance with building regulations across a range of council properties.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and coordinate statutory testing and inspections for council buildings, including asbestos re-inspections, mansafe system testing, safety glazing surveys, and roller shutter door servicing.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors and building surveyors.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on inspection findings.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of compliance procedures.
- Provide support to the Building Surveying team as required.
Essential Skills & Experience:- Proven experience in building services or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of asbestos compliance regulations
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)
Desirable Skills & Experience:- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
- Experience of working within a local authority environment
