Network Recruitment Wales is seeking two Ground Maintenance Operatives to join the Building Services & Maintenance team for a 12-week temporary assignment based at Llanfoist Depot. This role plays a vital part in keeping Monmouthshire’s outdoor spaces clean, safe, and sustainable.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain public open spaces, verges, planted areas, schools, and contracted sites to a high standard.
• Undertake general grounds maintenance, including grass cutting (hand-held and ride-on equipment), shrub bed maintenance, landscaping, and sports facility marking.
• Litter pick across open spaces, roadsides, and hard surfaces; empty litter bins; and support reactive issues such as fly tipping.
• Assist with cemetery duties such as grave digging when appropriately trained.
• Operate vehicles, tools, and machinery safely and in line with manufacturer guidance.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and keep machines clean and well-maintained.
• Work flexibly as part of the wider street services team when required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, landscaping, or similar outdoor manual work.
• A good understanding of health & safety and the ability to follow agreed procedures.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated approach with pride in delivering high-quality work.
• Good communication skills.
• Flexible approach, including willingness to work outside core hours to meet service needs.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
Welsh language skills are desirable.

• 2 years of references/work history.
