Commercial Vehicle Technician (HGV) – Fleet Maintenance Specialist

Job Details:
- Employment Type: Temporary (12 weeks, covering vacancy)
- Number of Positions: 2
- Start Date: 22/09/2025
- Hours: 37 hours per week (rotating shifts: one week 6am–2pm or 12noon–8pm on a week-by-week basis)
- Pay Rate: PAYE: £20.00 per hour | Umbrella: £25.40 per hour
- Location: Milford Haven
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, light commercial vehicles, and specialist fleet vehicles to DVSA standards and manufacturer's guidelines.
- Conduct fault diagnosis, inspections, and MOT preparation, using diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Undertake parts replacement, welding, and auto-electrical work as needed, ensuring minimal vehicle downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of all work, including service sheets, repairs, and compliance documentation.
- Support out-of-hours call-outs and standby duties to keep operations running smoothly.
- Promote health and safety practices, keeping the workshop clean, tidy, and secure.

Requirements:
- Essential: Qualified HGV technician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in commercial vehicle maintenance.
- Essential: Proven experience in HGV servicing, repairs, and diagnostics; strong mechanical knowledge.
- Essential: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organisational skills under pressure.
- Desirable: Experience with specialist vehicles or agriculture equipment; IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent).
- Must have: Eligibility to work in the UK, Criminal Convictions Declaration, Confidentiality Agreement; Pembrokeshire CIFAS Results and Declaration required upon offer acceptance.
- Full clean driving licence (Category C preferred).
