Location: Newport
Salary: PAYE £13.26 per hour | Umbrella £16.84 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (Summer: 07:30–15:30, Winter: 09:30–17:30)
Contract: Temporary, 08/09/2025 – 52 weeks

Are you passionate about horticulture and eager to work in historic, award-winning parks? Network Recruitment Wales is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Gardener to join the dynamic Parks Horticultural Team in Newport.

About the Role:
As a Gardener, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing these iconic parks. You’ll work full-time (37 hours per week) with seasonal hours: 07:30–15:30 in summer and 09:30–17:30 in winter. This role demands a strong knowledge of horticulture and plants, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality work in an ornamental horticultural setting.Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance the horticultural features of Belle Vue and Beechwood Parks.
  • Apply broad horticultural knowledge and plant care skills to uphold the parks’ prestigious standards.
  • Work collaboratively within a team, supporting colleagues and fostering positive relationships.
  • Follow procedures and provide feedback to improve processes.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: Proven experience in an ornamental horticultural setting is essential.
  • Skills: Broad knowledge of horticulture and a strong plant knowledge skill set.
  • Requirements: A CV, proof of eligibility to work in the UK, a Criminal Convictions Declaration, and a signed Confidentiality Agreement upon offer acceptance.
  • Behaviours: Team-oriented, open to change, and committed to high standards with excellent communication skills.
  • Other: Ability to undertake mandatory training and demonstrate a flexible, adaptable approach to work.
