About the Role
Network Recruitment Wales is seeking an experienced Housing & Prevention Manager on behalf of our client for a 24-week temporary role to support a one-off project within the Housing and Communities team, under Environment and Sustainability. Based in Newport, this role is pivotal in driving cultural change to enhance service delivery during a period of departmental restructuring.You will work closely with 5 Team Leaders, supporting a team of 25 Officers to embed cultural and performance improvements. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering a positive, effective workplace culture, ensuring the team is aligned with the council’s goals of delivering high-quality housing and prevention services. While in-depth knowledge of the Housing Wales Act is beneficial, it is secondary to proven experience in leading cultural change.This role requires at least 3 days per week in the office, with the option to consider a 4-day working week (with pro-rata pay).
Key Responsibilities
- Drive cultural and performance improvements to support the restructuring of the Housing and Communities team.
- Provide direct support and guidance to 5 Team Leaders managing a team of 25 Officers.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture to enhance service delivery.
- Work with stakeholders to embed sustainable changes that align with the council’s objectives.
- Ensure effective communication and engagement to promote a cohesive team environment.
