Rate: PAYE £12.85/hour | Umbrella £16.32/hour

About the Role
Network Recruitment Wales is excited to recruit a dedicated Grounds Operative on behalf of our client for a 36-week temporary position to cover long-term sickness. Based in Abergavenny, this role sits within the Community & Place team and plays a vital part in delivering high-quality, visible grounds maintenance and street services across Monmouthshire.As a Grounds Operative, you’ll work closely with the Commercial and Operations Manager and a range of colleagues to maintain public spaces, verges, planting, schools, and contracted sites, ensuring a safe, clean, and sustainable environment. You’ll primarily focus on grounds maintenance but may also support street services, including litter picking and addressing fly-tipping, to uphold local environmental quality.This role offers the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of external clients, such as Monmouthshire Housing Association, Aneurin Bevan Health Trust, Heddlu Gwent Police, and various developers, as well as internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out grounds maintenance tasks, including upkeep of public open spaces, verges, and planting.
  • Support street services activities, such as litter picking and responding to fly-tipping.
  • Deliver high-quality, visible services to external and internal clients.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to maintain a safe, clean, and sustainable environment.
  • Act as a first point of contact for external clients, ensuring excellent service delivery.
Candidate Requirements
  • Essential: Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Essential: Minimum of 2 years’ references/work history.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying tasks.
