Support People in Need with Your Housing Expertise!Are you experienced in homelessness services and passionate about helping individuals find housing solutions? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking 2 Housing Advice Officers to join a dynamic team in Hengoed. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by providing advice and support to those facing housing challenges.
What You’ll Do:
- Answer calls and provide advice and assistance to individuals contacting the service.
- Assess housing needs, investigate cases, and make homelessness decisions in line with relevant legislation.
- Manage a caseload, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data entry (experience with CIVICA Abritas system is a plus but not essential).
- Maximise housing options to discharge duties effectively, including referrals to emergency housing teams.
- Monitor and manage placements, utilise grant funding, and make referrals to support services.
- Handle difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism while meeting deadlines and prioritising tasks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Direct experience in a homelessness team within a local authority setting.
- Knowledge of homelessness legislation, caseload management, and housing need investigations.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to have challenging conversations.
- Excellent record-keeping and data entry skills, with attention to detail.
- Understanding of the Renting Homes framework and grant funding to alleviate housing needs.
- Desirable: Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework.
