Job Advert: Social Worker - Assessment (Children) - Social Care Qualified
Location: Pembrokeshire
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Start Date: 04/08/2025
Duration: 12 weeks
Pay Rate: £26.30/hour (PAYE) or £33.51/hour (Umbrella)

Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Social Worker - Assessment (Children) to join the Child Care Assessment Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and families through statutory child protection and family support services.

What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct assessments within statutory timescales, including child protection investigations and high-end Child in Need cases.
  • Manage a caseload, including court cases, ensuring compliance with the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014.
  • Participate in the Section 47 Joint Investigation (S.47 JI) rota, with two social workers on duty daily.
  • Support the development of the S.47 and Assessment Teams.
  • Work collaboratively to meet the needs of children and families in Pembrokeshire.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Social Worker with experience in child protection, looked-after children, or family support.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage caseloads and meet statutory deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and related codes of practice.
  • Ability to handle complex cases, including those involving exploitation concerns.
  • Required Documents:
    • Proof of Eligibility to Work in the UK
    • Social Care Wales Registration
    • DBS Summary Form
    • 5 Years References/Work History
  • Desirable: Health Declaration/Questionnaire
