The Role
A well-regarded secondary school in Birmingham is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join its Design & Technology department from January 2026. You’ll plan and deliver practical, creative lessons across KS3 and KS4, developing students’ knowledge of nutrition, food preparation, kitchen safety, and wider design principles. This role offers a great opportunity to shape students’ skills through hands-on learning in a well-equipped food technology environment.
 
The Candidate
You will hold QTS (or be an ECT) with a strong interest or background in Food Technology or broader DT. You should feel confident running practical sessions, maintain high health and safety standards, and designing engaging schemes of work that blend theory with practical application. A collaborative mindset, strong organisation, and genuine enthusiasm for the subject are essential.

The Design & Technology department benefits from modern facilities and a friendly, collaborative staff culture. ECTs will be supported with mentoring and professional development.
