Contract: Full-time, Supply
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: £266 – £287 per day (dependent on experience)
 
About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding Geography Lead Practitioner to join our team from January 2026. You will:
  • Review, refine and strengthen our Geography curriculum & resources, ensuring they are engaging, up-to-date and suitably differentiated.
  • Deliver fabulous, high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3 & 4 (and possibly 5, if applicable).
  • Coach, mentor, and support staff within the Geography department to improve pedagogical practice and student outcomes.
  • Be part of the school’s school-improvement strategy, contributing to raising standards, inclusion, and student attainment.
Person Specification / Key Responsibilities
You will:
  • Be a fully qualified teacher (QTS) with a strong subject specialism in Geography.
  • Have proven successful experience teaching Geography, with ability to deliver “good” to “outstanding” lessons consistently.
  • Be experienced in reviewing and improving curriculum design, assessment, schemes of work, and teaching resources.
  • Have experience (or strong interest) in staff coaching, mentoring or leading professional development.
  • Possess excellent communication skills — able to collaborate with pupils, staff, parents and senior leadership.
  • Be motivated by inclusion: ensuring high attainment for all pupils, including those with SEND or from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Be resilient, organised and able to lead by example.
