The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to take full responsibility for a well-behaved and fun Year 3 class while completing a structured and supportive ECT induction. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum, assess student progress, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs. As part of a 2-Form Entry school, you will work closely with parallel teachers, benefiting from shared planning and team collaboration.
 
The Candidate
The school is looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher who is eager to develop their teaching skills in a nurturing environment. You should have:
  • A degree and QTS (or be on track to achieve it by September 2025)
  • A strong understanding of the Year 3 curriculum and how to engage young learners
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to create a positive learning environment
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development

  • ECF-based training modules: Covering core areas such as pedagogy, behaviour management, curriculum design, assessment, and professional conduct.
  • Assigned mentor: A dedicated and experienced teacher providing regular feedback, guidance, and one-on-one support.
  • Observation and feedback sessions: Structured classroom observations with detailed feedback from your mentor and school leadership.
  • Personalised development plan: Tailored support based on your strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Workload management strategies: Guidance on lesson planning, marking, and time management to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Regular reflection and self-assessment: Opportunities to review and refine your teaching practice through self-evaluation and mentor discussions.
