The Role
This Maths ECT position offers the opportunity to take full responsibility for your own class from day one while benefiting from a well-established induction programme. You will plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons, monitor student progress, and adapt teaching strategies to support all learners. As part of a collaborative Maths department, you will contribute to curriculum development, attend training sessions, and engage in wider school activities.
 
The Candidate
The school is looking for a passionate and motivated Maths ECT who is eager to develop their teaching skills in a high-performing environment. You should have:

• A degree in Mathematics or a related subject
• QTS (or be on track to achieve it by September 2025)
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing to school life

ECT Induction
As an Early Career Teacher, you will benefit from a structured two-year induction programme designed to support your professional growth and ensure a smooth transition into teaching. This programme follows the Early Career Framework (ECF) and provides comprehensive training, mentoring, and development opportunities tailored to your needs.
 

• ECF-based training modules: Covering core areas such as pedagogy, behaviour management, curriculum design, assessment, and professional conduct.
• Assigned mentor: A dedicated and experienced teacher providing regular feedback, guidance, and one-on-one support.
• Observation and feedback sessions: Structured classroom observations with detailed feedback from your mentor and school leadership.
• Personalised development plan: Tailored support based on your strengths and areas for improvement.
• Workload management strategies: Guidance on lesson planning, marking, and time management to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
• Regular reflection and self-assessment: Opportunities to review and refine your teaching practice through self-evaluation and mentor discussions.
