Job Description
An inclusive and nurturing primary school in Islington is looking for an experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This long-term, full-time role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the learning and development of pupils in Key Stage 1.
The Role:
- Position: KS1 Teaching Assistant
- Location: Islington, North London
- Start: Immediate or ASAP
- Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
- Salary: £102–£110 per day (dependent on experience)
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with additional learning needs.
- Adapt class activities and materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions.
- Foster emotional well-being, positive behaviour, and confidence in young pupils.
- Help maintain a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
- A strong understanding of common SEN needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language delays).
- A warm, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed, both academically and personally.
