Children and Families – St Helens
Rate: up to £44.48 per hour
 
We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
 
This is a qualified role requiring you to be SWE registered and have relevant experience within children’s services.
 
A duty social worker is currently required to respond to MASH referrals and undertake assessments set to timescales no longer than 45 days. You will be responsible for identifying needs and working with children and families to offer support and implement plans.
 
You will need experience of working with children & families in a safeguarding setting, and a range of skills and knowledge in dealing with section 47 enquiries/CIN/assessments/planning.
 
The range of work involves working with children on CIN plans for a short term basis until step-down, or step up to ICPC where cases transfer to the longer term assessment service.
 
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective communication skills and preferably have some experience of Signs of Safety (though this is not essential).
 
Hybrid working is available, preferably 2 days a week in office or a full week if on duty – you will also work 1 week in 4 being on duty.
