Rate: up to £34 per hour
 
We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
 
This is a qualified role requiring you to be SWE registered and have relevant experience within Fostering services.

• Social worker registered with Social Work England
• Previous experience working within a social care environment
• A proven track record of excellent practice that improves the lives of children
• High-level written and verbal communication skills to build effective professional relationships with families and other professionals
• Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models and theories relevant to children’s social work, and the ability to evidence how you have applied your learning to your practice
• The skills to undertake assessments and to use evidence-based practice tools to support foster care and kinship care placements

 
Cornwall Council’s Children and Family Services deliver effective frontline services that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.  Our social workers are innovative, positive and dedicated to make a real difference.  Team Managers ensure regular reflective supervision and our training package is second to none. 
 
You will be expected to be IT literate.  The candidate should be able to drive and have access to their own transport, although Cornwall Council does have Pool cars which are bookable. The role is initially for three months with the possibility of being reviewed for extension.
