About the Role Pertemps Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive
Primary School in Hounslow seeking a dedicated
SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from
January. The successful candidate will work closely with children who present with a range of
special educational needs, including:
- Challenging behaviour
- Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Learning difficulties
You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, regulate their emotions, develop routines, and feel safe and supported in their school environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the school SENCO
- Support the development of pupils’ emotional regulation and social skills
- Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours
Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour (school, care, or youth work background all considered)
- Strong behaviour-management skills and a resilient, calm approach
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to remain patient, supportive, and proactive in demanding situations
Requirements- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant experience with SEN or behavioural needs is essential
