Job Description
Pertemps Education are proud to be partnered with a wonderful ASD SEN school in Putney, who are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to make a real difference in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The school has a warm, supportive ethos and offers excellent facilities and training opportunities for staff.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties.
- Assist teachers in creating engaging, differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour through encouragement, structure, and empathy.
- Support the social and educational development of students, helping them achieve both academic and personal goals.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure each pupil receives the right level of care and support.
- Has previous experience working in an SEN school in the UK (essential).
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
- Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and colleagues alike.
- Holds relevant SEN training or experience — Team Teach and Makaton training are desirable but not essential.
- Is reliable, proactive, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
