School Caretaker – Ruislip – Immediate Start
A primary school in Ruislip is seeking a Temporary School Caretaker to join their site team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, hands-on, and dependable individual to help maintain a safe and positive learning environment for pupils and staff.
This role is initially until the end of the academic year (July 2025), with the possibility of extension from September.
Position Details:
- Job Title: Temporary School Caretaker
- Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (until July 2025, with potential extension)
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily maintenance tasks, emergency repairs, and scheduled preventative work
- Conduct routine health and safety checks (e.g. water testing, security checks, perimeter inspections)
- Assist and coordinate with the cleaning staff to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Supervise any maintenance support staff and manage task lists effectively
- Liaise with external contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols
- Support school operations, including unlocking/locking premises and gate duty
- Transport materials or equipment locally using school or personal vehicle as needed
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and site security policies
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience in site or facilities maintenance, ideally in a school or educational setting
- Be confident in basic repairs, site upkeep, and health & safety procedures
- Be organised, adaptable, and capable of managing both independent and team tasks
- Be approachable, proactive, and reliable
- Possess a relevant trade qualification and/or Health & Safety certification (desirable but not essential)
