Head of Biology – Permanent – Secondary School – Westminster – September 2025 Start 
An ambitious and high-achieving secondary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Biology to lead the Biology team within its thriving Science department. This is a permanent, full-time position starting in September 2025, and comes with a TLR2c for leadership responsibility.

• Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time 

• Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR2c (Head of Biology responsibility) 

 
The Role 
As Head of Biology, you will take the lead on curriculum planning, assessment, and progress tracking in Biology across Key Stages 3–5. You will be responsible for ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning within the subject, while supporting and developing a team of dedicated staff. 
This is an ideal opportunity for a passionate Biology teacher looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and academically focused department. 
 
The ideal candidate will: 

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 

• Have a strong academic background in Biology 

• Be experienced in teaching Biology to KS5, and general Science at lower key stages 

• Have previous leadership experience or be ready to step into a subject leadership role 

• Demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to raise attainment 

• Be organised, proactive, and committed to fostering a love of science 

• Contribute positively to department development and wider school life
