SENCO – Special School – Secondary
This amazing, vibrant and nurturing special school is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to enhance the SEND provision for Key Stage 3 and 4 students with Autism and Moderate Learning Needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a SENCO who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to ensuring that every young person receives the support they need to succeed. The school has an outstanding reputation in the local community for providing children with an engaging education that is tailored to their individual needs.

The successful SENCO will play a key role in shaping high-quality provision, working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and external agencies to create a structured and nurturing learning environment for students with additional needs.

The Role:
  • Supporting students with Autism and Moderate Learning Needs
  • Overseeing EHCPs, annual reviews and SEND documentation
  • Working closely with teachers to develop high-quality, differentiated teaching strategies
  • Monitoring student progress and ensuring appropriate interventions are in place
  • Supporting staff with training, guidance and best practice in SEND
  • Liaising with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Contributing to whole-school improvement and inclusive practice
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status and the appropriate SENCO qualification
  • Previous experience working within a SEND or specialist setting
  • Strong understanding of Autism and Moderate Learning Needs
  • Experience supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 students
  • Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills
  • A proactive, compassionate and collaborative approach
