Special Educational Needs Teacher – Secondary – Birmingham
Are you an experienced Special Educational Needs Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive and well-resourced school? This welcoming secondary SEND school in Birmingham is seeking a passionate and committed teacher to join their dedicated team, supporting students with a range of additional needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and communication challenges.

As a Special Educational Needs Teacher, you will teach small classes of secondary-aged students, ensuring that lessons are engaging, accessible, and tailored to individual learning needs. Job Role:

• Teaching and inspiring students with special educational needs across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons that promote progress and confidence
• Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to support individual learning goals
• Managing behaviour positively and fostering an inclusive, safe classroom environment
• Supporting students’ social, emotional, and communication development
• Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each student

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – secondary or primary trained
• Experience teaching students with SEND in a specialist or mainstream setting
• Knowledge of strategies to support learners with Autism, MLD, and communication difficulties
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to teaching
